Berlin-Schönhauser Corner

In this landmark film about rebellious youth, a group of teenagers meet daily on Schönhauser Street in East Berlin to dance to rock n’ roll, swap Western goods and escape the control of their parents and the State. A box office hit, later banned by East German officials and since ranked by film critics as one of Germany’s 100 most important films, Berlin-Schönhauser Corner is a “a classic cult film” (Washington Diplomat) as well as “a perceptive social portrait” (The Museum of Modern Art, New York).
